This letter will confirm our agreement for the preparation and execution of an appraisal of your fine art at comparative market value for Insurance Purposes, located at your residence.  The sole purpose of this appraisal is to determine Fair Market Value. No permission is granted or implied for any usage of this appraisal other than the purpose stated.

The property to be appraised is broadly described as: various works of art. Arrangements will be made with you for an on-site inspection of the items. During the inspection said listed property will be photographed and a detailed description will be taken.  During the inspection, it is your responsibility to provide me with any factual information within your knowledge, as may be requested.  This includes, but is not limited to, bills of sale, insurance records, auction catalogs, exhibition records, and previous appraisals of said property.

The appraiser will not perform any scientific testing.  After the inspection is completed, the appraiser will do an evaluation and then submit two copies of a bound written and signed report.  Photographs of the appraised items will be included in the appraisal report.

The appraisal will represent the judgment and opinion of the appraiser, as to the current fair market value and other factors stated in the appraisal.  As stated earlier, this appraisal is for Fair Market Value for Insurance Purposes only and shall not be disseminated, relied upon or used by any third parties unrelated to the immediate purpose of this appraisal.  Also, this appraisal is not a statement or representation of fact nor is it a representation or warranty with respect to authenticity, genuineness or provenance.

The appraiser has no present, or contemplated financial interest in the above listed property, nor was our employment contingent upon any percentage of the valuation.

The appraiser fee is $55 an hour, with a minimum fee of 2 hours. You are responsible for all traveling and incidental expenses, including photography charges. An additional fee will be charged for any required future services pertaining to this appraisal.

If this agreement meets with your approval, please sign and return one copy of this agreement.
