About Annoel Krider

Annoel Krider’s weavings achieve a powerful blend of color, design, and intent. Most of the weavings reference a south-western motif. She blends shapes that reference sun, earth, and sky within a refined theory of color relationship. Ms. Krider also explores the use of mixed-media in her wall works. The media of sticks, paper, and paint enhance her contemplative, symbolic vision. Her titles indicate that Ms. Krider uses thread like prayer beads. Titles such as “Soul” “Journey Into the Eyes of the Heart” and “Mystery Between Ideas”. With each touch of weft and warp, her loving spiritual pursuit creates beauty and mandala-like pathways.

Annoel was born into an artistic family with a mother who was an Arts & Humanities Professor and Painter and a father who was an Architect, Historian and Pianist.

Ms. Krider studied weaving with a professor from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvanian, from the Mayan Indians in Cuernavaca, Mexico, and at the Scheuer Tapestry Studio, New York City through a fellowship grant. She graduated from Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pennsylvania, where she studied weaving from Mary Lou Higgins. There she received her BA Art Education, Magna cum Laude.
